Graduations and Babies ~~So Many Changes

Summer Days seem to be here and it has been so great. Not too hot and maybe a little rain tomorrow. Everything in my yard could sure use some natural watering.

We went to Sylvia's graduation last week and her party on Sunday. Monday she applied for a job in downtown Portland and now she and her mom are planning for their trip to Spain at the end of the month.

Loren's sister owns Natures Pet in Canby and we went to visit and pick up some treats. There is a nice park close by with a great path to take the dogs for a walk.








You can tell it was a beautiful day and perfect for a stroll with the dogs, although with them it isn't so much a stroll as a trot.

I had pictures of Loren and the dogs but it only wants to put them on sideways! Another time!

There was this really cool metal wall? Anyway I thought it would look great in our backyard, but as you will see, it is a little too large to take home.



Yeah, really cool but really big.

Monday was Girl Gang at Pioneer Quilts and we had such a good time stitching. Here are a few of the projects in progress....




These are the beginnings of the blocks in a book called Garden Club Quilts. Several of us are doing this quilt. Very summery.

I would say that we have some really talented ladies in this group. Feel free to join us on the 2nd Monday of each month at 10:30.

And now for some updates on upcoming events.


There is a quilt show coming up in Sandy beginning on Thursday June 26 and it runs through Sat. the 28th. This is the last time there will be a quilt show in Sandy so please go visit. You will be glad you did.

My newest grandbaby is due July 1. I plan to go visit them after she arrives. Don't know when I will leave yet, depends on when the little one decides to come!

The Spargonians will be meeting on Saturday June 28 from 11:30-2:30 at Pioneer Quilts. In September we will begin meeting at my Studio. If you would like more information please email me:

If you have a group of ladies who like to sew together and need a place to meet please consider my studio. It can accommodate at least 8 at tables. You might like to come and see if it would suit your needs.

The Girl Gang class, Prairie Women's Sewing Circle and the Spargonians will be meeting at my home beginning in September.
It is a great loss for us to have Pioneer Quilts closing. Be sure and visit while you can. Stock up on fabric and tell them how much they will be missed.

Camping in the Rain

 Hello Everyone,  We went camping at Barview Jetty a little while ago and it rained almost all the time we were there! On the way it was necessary to stop here at our favorite fish shop! Best shrimp, sauce, and clam chowder that we have found.  Excellent. We went there on the way to camp and on the way home. Even thought it rained so much, the clouds were spectacular. The sand had some cool patterns We had friends that camped next to us and we ate really well.  Some reading and stitching were also part of our days. A couple weeks ago we went to McIver park to camp. Again it rained almost the whole time we were there. Same friends kept us entertained and we continued with our eating really well. This is a reflection in the lake of the sun trying to come out. Mamma ducks and babies were enjoying the break in the rain. We have found out that our beloved Oscar has Prostate cancer and Cushings disease. It's a sad blow as we lost both our Silkies last year. We don't know how long we

Coming out of hibernation

 I decided it was time to bring my blog back to life. I thought about it for some time and decided it would be so nice to connect with friends again even if it's just with words. I have mostly enjoyed being at home and catching up with reading and sewing. My Etsy shop is doing well and I would like to share some of the things that are currently available.                                        I bought this tin in The Netherlands when I was recently there visiting my daughter and her family. They took me to a very cool old antique shop and they have Lots of tins. The shop had so many things that I would have liked to take home. But Not possible. This is another one! It's been fun finding things to put in the sewing boxes. They are listed in my Etsy shop thequiltingbshop.Etsy.com There are lots of size 12 Valdani Thread available too.
