What?? June Already!!

Already over half gone. I don't really love hot weather so I'd just as soon skip to October. Not necessarily the month.....just the temperature.

My current projects


My friend, Marcie, made this beautiful bag so naturally I want one too. I haven't gotten very far but I love the beauty of it.

My friend MaryAnn made a great "penny" rug with hexagons so, of course, I need one too.



A friend of mine, Mary, made this adorable little quilt, I need one too.

OK, remember the penny trees from a few months ago? We wanted to make Halloween trees?

  In Sept. we can do this. Make a penny tree or as I am doing...a yoyo tree. You can  blame MaryAnn for this idea. I love it.  Mine is in progress. Date coming soon.


Another class in Sept. will be the making of these beautiful Sashiko placemats.



They are made with linen in two colors. They are reversible. They are an extension of our previous Sashiko classes. Quite fun and quick to make. Class date coming soon.

We went camping at Ft. Stevens with Ginny and Darren. It started out crazy wet. I mean gobs of rain. Our site was flooded and only due to Loren's masterful parking, were we able to step out of the motor home.


Next morning the sun is out and it's great.


On the way to Astoria we found this tree. I love it.

After Ginny and Darren went home we moved down to Nehalem Bay Campground. It was a nice week. We went through Tillamook on our way home for ice cream and their new gorgeous center is open this week, I think. It is really classy.
We are back home for a while. We are going back to Nehalem Bay in July with Ginny and Darren.

Camping in the Rain

 Hello Everyone,  We went camping at Barview Jetty a little while ago and it rained almost all the time we were there! On the way it was necessary to stop here at our favorite fish shop! Best shrimp, sauce, and clam chowder that we have found.  Excellent. We went there on the way to camp and on the way home. Even thought it rained so much, the clouds were spectacular. The sand had some cool patterns We had friends that camped next to us and we ate really well.  Some reading and stitching were also part of our days. A couple weeks ago we went to McIver park to camp. Again it rained almost the whole time we were there. Same friends kept us entertained and we continued with our eating really well. This is a reflection in the lake of the sun trying to come out. Mamma ducks and babies were enjoying the break in the rain. We have found out that our beloved Oscar has Prostate cancer and Cushings disease. It's a sad blow as we lost both our Silkies last year. We don't know how long we

Coming out of hibernation

 I decided it was time to bring my blog back to life. I thought about it for some time and decided it would be so nice to connect with friends again even if it's just with words. I have mostly enjoyed being at home and catching up with reading and sewing. My Etsy shop is doing well and I would like to share some of the things that are currently available.                                        I bought this tin in The Netherlands when I was recently there visiting my daughter and her family. They took me to a very cool old antique shop and they have Lots of tins. The shop had so many things that I would have liked to take home. But Not possible. This is another one! It's been fun finding things to put in the sewing boxes. They are listed in my Etsy shop thequiltingbshop.Etsy.com There are lots of size 12 Valdani Thread available too.
