Fall is in the air
Even though we are having such warm beautiful weather, I can feel fall approaching. I am very happy about that.

First of all I would like to reschedule the Slow Stitch class. It will be Saturday Nov. 10.
Please let me know if you will be attending. I will have kits for you. 10-3, $15.00.
In addition to the French mending kit, I will also have a kit for you to do a Japanese dust cloth. It should be informative and fun.
Slow Stitching around the world
All the stitching we do around the table qualifies as "slow stitching". We visit, we connect, we eat and we form friendships. We are away from daily chores and distractions.
To compliment this practice I'd like to offer a day a month to expand on the idea of Slow Stitching.
You can work on any hand work project and in addition, I will give you some stitch examples from a class I took. You can try these out as a stitch sampler. Some who begin slow stitching like to start with a blank piece of fabric and just do some stitching each day. The stitches I share might be inspiring.
Also we will explore stitch practices in different countries. The first one will be French mending. Mostly done on household linens, ladies would mend over and over as they did not own very many towels or sheets.
I will provide a linen sample to mend and we will explore some of their way of life.
Classes in the future will include Egyptian applique, Scandinavian stitchery and more. I think it will add richness to what we sew and connect us with other cultures.
