Since my last visit we have been to the beach, although not how we thought we would be going because of the snow in Southern Oregon. We were going to Indian Mary campground down sort of by Roseburg but we couldn't get through so they kindly changed our reservation to this month and we will go there next Tuesday.

We went instead to Lincoln City and stayed one night at Devil's Lake. Of course we had to have shrimp from Barnacle Bill's. Excellent.

Next we moved on to Cape Lookout State Park




There were the most interesting trees all twisted and gnarly. I couldn't get enough of looking at them. 


We left this nearly empty campground and stopped in Tillamook for a cup of ice cream....naturally. Tillamook Creamery has completed a beautiful new building and there are so many tempting things to look at and maybe to buy!!

Next stop was Barview Jetty. This is a county park and I really like it. Easy access to the beach and a huge sand dune to climb if you would choose to do so.

We left the next morning and continued on to Nehalem Bay where we stayed several nights. They have a nice trail around the area and it passes a small airport. A plane was landing and it flew really low over our heads.

If you are on Instagram or Pinterest, you see huge amounts of the cutest little doll size quilts. Who can have toooo many? Apparently many of us cannot. If you would like to come and sew that day, bring along your books and patterns for little quilts and we will pick ones that we want to make. We do Not have to all make the same ones, just drool over all the ones we want to start. 

If you have one if progress, bring that too. Show and tell?? Please.

Camping in the Rain

 Hello Everyone,  We went camping at Barview Jetty a little while ago and it rained almost all the time we were there! On the way it was necessary to stop here at our favorite fish shop! Best shrimp, sauce, and clam chowder that we have found.  Excellent. We went there on the way to camp and on the way home. Even thought it rained so much, the clouds were spectacular. The sand had some cool patterns We had friends that camped next to us and we ate really well.  Some reading and stitching were also part of our days. A couple weeks ago we went to McIver park to camp. Again it rained almost the whole time we were there. Same friends kept us entertained and we continued with our eating really well. This is a reflection in the lake of the sun trying to come out. Mamma ducks and babies were enjoying the break in the rain. We have found out that our beloved Oscar has Prostate cancer and Cushings disease. It's a sad blow as we lost both our Silkies last year. We don't know how long we

Coming out of hibernation

 I decided it was time to bring my blog back to life. I thought about it for some time and decided it would be so nice to connect with friends again even if it's just with words. I have mostly enjoyed being at home and catching up with reading and sewing. My Etsy shop is doing well and I would like to share some of the things that are currently available.                                        I bought this tin in The Netherlands when I was recently there visiting my daughter and her family. They took me to a very cool old antique shop and they have Lots of tins. The shop had so many things that I would have liked to take home. But Not possible. This is another one! It's been fun finding things to put in the sewing boxes. They are listed in my Etsy shop thequiltingbshop.Etsy.com There are lots of size 12 Valdani Thread available too.
