My favorite month

I know there are those who favor this month above all others! Nice days and cool evenings. Sweater weather. I love the leaves and all the acorns. We just returned from a camping trip to Eastern Oregon with two of our favorite Long time friends. Over by Burns we stayed two nights on our daughter and son-in-laws property. The darkness of the night gave us the most brilliant star show I've seen in a long time. In the morning the waves of geese and Cranes flying in to a nearby field was spectacular. It was amazingly quiet except for all the conversation going on with the geese.




Very cute tiny town...love the parking meter!!




We had a wonderful lunch at this hotel. If you haven't been......you should go.

Great museum with a very helpful host.


The last night of our trip was spent at Cottonwood Canyon camp ground. It was full so we parked in the parking lot. Still there was a lot to see and you can go down to the river where there are rocks to want and lovely dried old weeds.

It was a good thing that my open studio was scheduled for the day it was because I just barely escaped the snow! It was a fun day and many friends stopped by to see where I love to sew. A friend who I hadn't seen in years, Joy, came and I was so happy to see her again. When I owned The Quilting B, the best thing about being there was all the new friends I made. I probably would never met many of you if it hadn't been for those years! Thanks! Here are a few of the pictures from that day. Ellen came with her project and it is beautiful! My neighbor, Monica is helping me have a great time! Along with the stitching, it is a time to make more friends and to know each other a little better. Our dog, Oscar, loves to be with people. I guess if I'm going to get anything else written before 2013, I'd better get at it. Earlier this month Loren and I went to downtown Portland and watched the Tuba Christmas. It was held at Pioneer Courthouse Square and was beautiful. Listening to that many tubas outside was wonderful. It was a little misty and a bit cold but all crowded together, it wasn't bad. I love the old courthouse. Tried to get the flag billowing out, almost. It is such a beautiful old building. We don't have many buildings like this, we tear them down and make something new. nice tree...great back view of someones head! After watching for a while we went to.... Besides the greatest smelling cigars, they sell their wonderful cigar boxes. I was looking for a perfect one to give my daughter with a scarf that I knitted for her. Of course, I found one and sorry I didn't take a picture of it. It is black and just perfect for her. Score!  A little l...

A Few Reminders

I don't know about you, but I am always checking my planner to see what comes next. I keep it all written down so I don't have to strain my brain to remember. Good thing because I forget a lot.
