The wedding is almost here!

Image
As most of you know, my daughter Jennifer, is getting married next Friday. She is on her way to Portland from Lincoln City now to pick up Hugo tomorrow. She is finished with school and can look forward to finishing all the wedding details. I am very proud of her and all she has accomplished. She stayed in Lincoln City this school year and finished out her contract when she would have liked to go be with her sweetie. It hasn't been an easy time teaching in that small town for a big city girl. Here she is with Hugo. He is a very nice man and I give her to him for safe keeping. Since I last wrote I have been to quilt market and I must say, that was a blast. Saw so many people that I knew from the old Quilting B days and it was nice visiting with them again. Most special person that I got to see was Sue Spargo. Dinner was delish... I ordered some things and picked up some Valdani variegated Perle cotton. It is just wonderful to sew with. One place we visite...

Spring and a class cancellation

Another Monday has rolled around and I am just returning from the Girl Gang class. In case you don't know about this gang let me explain. A lot of years ago, Jan Patek began a group called Girl Gang. Each year she put out another quilt pattern, kind of a block of the month and we were in her "Gang". It includes a pattern for a notebook cover and you could also put that design on a denim jacket and let your colors show. At present we are working through her book called Homestead Hearth. It is a great little quilt and you are welcome to join us each month. We meet on the 2nd Monday of each month at Pioneer Quilts 10:30-1. There is a $15.00 charge.  She also has a blog that you might be interested in looking at http://janpatek.blogspot.com/ An alternate quilt that you can make is this one by Country Quilts called Springtime Sampler At 60"x 68" it is a nice size. Please let me know if you have any questions. We would love to have you joi...

Just a short posting on Monday

Good Monday Morning! Thursday I went to Lincoln City to help Jennifer with a garage sale. She is getting married in June and moving to The Netherlands with Hugo. So, she has to sell or give away most of her belongings before she goes. It rained Friday until about 2! No surprise....after that we set out some things and did pretty good until the rain returned at 5, so back inside went everything. Jennifer's street Saturday was much better sale wise and weather wise! I came home Saturday evening.  Yesterday, Sunday several of us gathered in my most awesome studio to sew. Here is a couple of pictures of what we worked on. Really fun. We have planned our next sewing day to be Saturday May 18 from 10-2. Hope you can plan to come. Here is what we are going to work on then. Crow Gossip...sorry about the glare. It is in the Primitive Quilts and Projects  Fall 2011. I hope you can come. Let me know if you don't have ...

Clark County Quilt show and other fun things

Image
Wednesday of last week Linda O and I set up our vendor booth at the Clark County Quilt Show. We were blessed to have a break in the weather and were able to get everything in without getting wet. We had a little struggle getting everything into Linda's truck. Our walls are pretty big and long and I looked and looked for bungee cords to secure them but we settled on a rope. The funny thing about this is my husband likes to find bungee cords and has hundreds (I think) and I couldn't find any of them. I now know the secret place where he hides them. Below are a few pictures of our booth. Now, it looks like a lot of stuff !! By Saturday afternoon there wasn't anything left on the walls and only a few fat quarters. It only took about 12 minutes to load up the left overs because there wasn't much left over. So thanks to all you who came and visited and took home treasures. It was so much fun. We laughed and visited and ate and had a great time.  ...
