On the Third Day
We have been having spectacular fall weather. I went to the quilt show at Expo yesterday and am so impressed with all the beautiful quilts. Tomorrow I'll put some of those pictures in the blog.

So now on the third day here is the next verse:
On
the Third Day of Autumn my true love gave to me
Three
caramel apples
Two
Candy Corn and an
Acorn
from an old oak tree are you singing along yet??

Fun
facts
·
The pumpkin is a member of the gourd family, which
is native to the Western
Hemisphere .
There is evidence to support that the natives of Mexico were eating gourds as early as 5500 BC.
·
Why
is the season called "Fall"? What happens in the
natural world during this season? The leaves on many trees die and fall to the
ground. About five hundred (500) years ago, when Middle English was spoken,
expressions like "fall of the leaf" and "fall of the year"
were quite common, and the season name "Fall" comes from them.
- The
leave colors red, yellow & brown are in the leaves all year long &
only become exposed when the green chlorophyll disappears in the fall.

We are so blessed to live in this beautiful area. We have the ocean and the mountains and the desert all within a short distance. I love living here. Take some time and go on a drive and look at the colors. Visit a winery or go to a far away vegetable stand and see what is being harvested.
Genesis 8:22
"While the earth remains, Seedtime and harvest, And cold and heat, And summer and winter, And day and night Shall not cease."
Enjoy day 3 of Autumn and I'll see you tomorrow...Betty
