Some Wintery thoughts And who better to give wisdom thoughts....Snoopy ************************************* There will be a special class on January 23. We will be spending the day exploring Sashiko. I'm working on a Composition book cover for my project. I want to do a little one also. In this class you can make this type cover or choose a Sashiko kit. Fabric Depot now has some kits and lots of thread. There are lots of places on Etsy that have fun kits and patterns available also. If you want me to pick out something for you, let me know. If you would like me to pick up a composition book for you, I'd be glad to. Sashiko is very interesting and enjoys a long history. I think it will be enjoyable to talk about this type of stitching and why it was used. It seems to be coming back into popularity. I will have some indygo fabric available to share and also some thread. Class will be from 10-4 and I'll have lunch for us.

The Day before Election Day

Happy Monday All I am going to say about the Election is Vote! I'm sure we will all be glad when the commercials are not longer thrown at us.. ************************* I recently was able to go to the quilt show in Aurora. My friends, Karen and Gloria and I have been going to this show for many years. I particularly like it because it is in historic Aurora and it is usually a showing of old quilts and even though there are new quilts, they fit in nicely with the old ones. There is an old log cabin called The George Steinback Family Log Cabin and there is a fire in the fireplace and cookies and it is a wonderful atmosphere on a chilly fall day. Here are a few of the quilts and a picture of the log cabin.
