A baby shower and a berry barn

I haven't been to a baby shower in a long time. My daughter, Carrie, and I went to one yesterday at the Spaghetti Factory. The mom-to-be is a friend of the family and it was fun seeing women I haven't seen for a long time. We played that game where you get to see what is on a tray and then have to remember and write all the stuff down....well, some of the new baby stuff I have never seen before and didn't know what they were called. Needless to say, I did not win.

The next game was a little creepy. The guests were given Dentyne gum and after chewing it awhile were to take it out and form a baby! Yuck.... My child is a very good potter and she formed the following....sorry, but I have to do it.

Baby, complete with diaper, she won!

The table decorations were very cute and useful. Little tiny disposable diapers rolled up in a pitcher.

Great idea.

Today after church at our awesome Solid Rock, we went to breakfast and then to a place called  The Berry Barn in Scholls. Ginny and Darren guided us there and it finally turned a little sunny after a surprising chilly damp morning. They have wonderful berries (of course) and some animals and lots of flowers. Coffee drinks, milkshakes and gift items are fun to look at and enjoy. Here are some of the highlights.

Now for the chickens and the goats!

And for your educational information of the day:

Who knew? did you?

We were going to picnic at a local winery but thought the weather might be better on another day. I hope it will be soon. It is fun to get out and see what the neighborhoods have to offer. We went to the Gresham Farmers Market yesterday morning and the berries were wonderful. We bought and then ate, a lot. Everything is growing so well, now with the beautiful weather. Makes eating fruits and vegetables a real pleasure.
