Wedding and leaving

I have now spent another hour on the phone with Verizon trying to get at my pictures. They have amazing patience with people like me who do not understand. She finally showed me how to bi-pass the cloud and download my pictures onto my computer so that I can use them. I hope I don't have to call them again.

Now on to more fun topics. The wedding was beautiful. Jennifer and Hugo looked wonderful. The weather could not have been any better. Everything went as planned and we had a great time.

We called "the big house" where most of the wedding guests stayed . It was full of light and Jennifer made all the decorations that were hung in the windows.

She sewed garlands together to hang in doorways and in other windows.

A Dutch word and the date of the wedding.

There were lots of windows and she worked a long time to fill them with decor!

View out the upstairs bedroom.

Girls getting ready for the wedding hour!

Jennifer coming down the stairs before driving to Fishing Rock State Park where the wedding was held.

Jennifer's sister Carrie preformed the ceremony.

Our neighbor, Rachel, made the wedding cake and it was beautiful and delicious. She is great at any cakes needed for any event.

Lots of dancing girls. The guys were mostly over having toasts and watching the girls!  We had a great time. The next day was Saturday and the weather was still great. In the evening we carried lots of food and drink to the beach and had a bonfire. Smores were made and our new Dutch relatives had never eaten this sweet treat. Needless to say, they loved them.

On Sunday it was time to go home. This picture is at breakfast at the Pig n Pancake in Lincoln City. Hugo is on the left and next to him is his mother, Villy, and then me and then Hugo's father Ruud. They are wonderful people and I'm glad Jennifer has such a nice family to be a part of. It is such a comfort to know that she has people who will care for her in my absence.

The had a few days to themselves and then came to Portland and stayed with us. On Monday July 1st, they packed all they could of Jennifer's treasures and left for The Netherlands. This is my last picture before they went into the airport. They are a sweet couple and I am confident they will be happy and make a good life far far far away!!! He is a good guy and I trust they will be happy together.

And now, back to my regular life and a few upcoming classes.

Sunday July 14 from noon to 4 is our next Primitive Quilts and Projects day.
Come and sew with us. I'll have a light lunch for us.

Saturday July 27th is Prairie Women's Class and Spargonian class at Pioneer Quilts.

I am planning a Pincushion of the Month class and will let you know the dates soon. You could help by telling me what days work best for you.

That's about it for now. It has been a really busy few weeks and I have enjoyed it all so very much. I have my granddaughter close by for the summer and Carrie is coming over more often. Nice memories. Make some of your own. It is good.

Wisdom Words...you've heard it before but....live in the moment. It goes so very fast.

  1. Beautiful bride. How precious to have had these last few weeks with her...even though hectic...so you can savor the moments. God bless her and Hugo on their next journey. See you soon, Betty.
